After the fight, we went back to our hotel to get ready for Mace’s celebratory party while he went through the League’s mandatory medical checkup and post-fight press conference.

I have spoken to Lo and Mateo, and they have both reassured me that he was fine.

I am currently in the bathroom of my hotel room, and my body is still buzzing with everything that’s happened tonight. When the referee put an end to the fight, all the people sitting within a ten-mile radius of the arena had been on their feet, screaming their heads off and watching Mason roar in victory.

My heart was bursting with pride and happiness for him. I was so lost in the excitement of my first League fight, I completely forgot that the thing was televised and jumped in Mace’s arms when he hopped over the iron fence and headed toward us.

The adrenaline also explains why I didn’t push him back when the asshole planted a hard one on my lips in front of everyone before he was pulled back into the ring by security. It was the same spontaneous closed ten-second mouth peck we gave each other when we were children and had about the same amount of passion. So, no big deal, right?

WRONG.

Somebody posted a video of the whole thing on the internet five minutes later, and I began trending. Thankfully by then, Oli and Angel ushered us through a side entrance, and I was able to avoid the nightmare of having to fight off people taking pictures of me without my permission everywhere I looked.

The girls are getting dressed on the other side of the door. We’re supposed to meet Mace and his friends in less than fifteen minutes, and I’m hiding like a coward in the bathroom because I want a rest from their relentless questioning, which began when we got in the car and hasn’t stopped since.

“My goodness, that kiss made me hot,” Tee says on the other side of the door. I can imagine her fake fanning herself like she did immediately after Mace kissed me. But don’t worry, she kids. I know for a fact Mace isn’t her type. We have an unwritten rule that none of us can date, touch or look at each other’s boyfriends or ex. It doesn’t matter if you are the love child of Brad Pitt and Chris Hemsworth, you will still be treated like used goods if you have dated one of us in the past.

“I’m getting married in two days, Tee,” I scream at her and clamp down on the panic as it sets in. Even though I am more relaxed than before, the anxiety attacks are getting worse, not better, as we approach my wedding date.

“I know, but you don’t have to be. You have options! Think about it, Boo,” She screams back. Did I forget to mention we started celebrating Mace’s victory in the car about an hour or so ago?

“You ready, Ms. Kissy Pants?” Mouse bash on the door and startles me out of my reverie.
